"In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:16
Appalachia Service Project provides one of the most rewarding structured service opportunities in the nation -- bringing thousands of volunteers from around the country to rural Central Appalachia to repair homes for low-income families. But ASP is more than just a building program. Yes, Appalachia's poorest families urgently need your help, but they can help change your life, too. Because when you change the lives of others, they have a way of changing you.
First UMC sponsors two ASP mission trips each year, a summer youth/adult program and a fall adult trip. The Westborough ASP Youth Program is sponsored jointly by St. Luke's parish and First UMC. Youth grades 9 and up do not need to be a member of these churches to join, but need a heart for service and a willingness to fully participate in the program.
Donations can also be made by check. Make the check out to FUMC-ASP and send it to us at the address below. If you wish your check to be credited towards the fundraising efforts of a particular youth, enter the youth's name on the memo line of your check. Donating by check means we don't pay 2.2% to the credit card processor.
