Giving with Bill Pay

What is Bill Pay

Bill Pay, also known as Direct Debit, is a way to automate regularly occurring transfers from your existing bank account. Using Bill Pay is a great way to ensure your tithe reaches FUMC each month without the hassle of writing checks or the fees associated with online giving platforms. Using Bill Pay eliminates fees which means 3-5% more of your contribution makes it to church and mission budgets.

How to get started

Set up yourself

Every bank is a bit different so it is best to search for specific instructions on how to set up Bill Pay within your bank's online system. Try googling "set up bill pay [insert bank name]" to find a setup guide. Generally, you will need only few steps to complete the process.

  1. Login to your institution's online banking system
  2. Navigate to the "Pay Bills" section of your checking account
  3. Add "Westborough First United Methodist Church" as a payee - church contact information from the bottom of the page can be used
  4. Add an "Automatic Payment" for the amount you want to regularly contribute
  5. Set how often and what day your contribution will be made - typically monthly and on the first, last, or 15th day

That's it! After completing a setup, your contribution amount will be automatically transferred to FUMC each month (or other frequency) on the day specified.
