Appalachia Service Project (ASP)
"In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:16
Appalachia Service Project provides one of the most rewarding structured service opportunities in the nation -- bringing thousands of volunteers from around the country to rural Central Appalachia to repair homes for low-income families. But ASP is more than just a building program. Yes, Appalachia's poorest families urgently need your help, but they can help change your life, too. Because when you change the lives of others, they have a way of changing you.
FUMC sponsors two ASP mission trips each year, a summer youth/adult program and a fall adult trip. The Westborough ASP Youth Program is sponsored jointly by St. Luke's parish and First UMC. Youth grades 9 and up do not need to be a member of these churches to join, but need a heart for service and a willingness to fully participate in the program.
Donations can be made by check or by clicking the link below.
Checks should be made out to FUMC-ASP and sent to the address below. If you wish your check to be credited towards the fundraising efforts of a particular youth, enter the youth's name on the memo line of your check. Donating by check means a larger donation for ASP since we don't pay 2.2% to the credit card processor!
Address to send checks: ASP Missions c/o FUMC, 120 West Main Street, Westborough, MA 01581
