"Let the little children come to Me." Matthew 19:14
We love kids at FUMC Westborough and we have something for kids of all ages!
For the little ones (infant- pre-k): Free Nursery child care is provided for infants and toddlers during both our Sunday worship services in the lower level of the church. Our mission is to provide a safe, loving environment for children, while parents participate in worship. No reservations or pre-registration is necessary, however, you must remain on the church property while your child is in nursery care. Infants must be over 6 weeks of age and parents must leave their cell phone number in the event of an emergency where it is necessary for the nursery care provider to get in touch with you.
For our school-age children (pre-k - High School): Each weekend you will find us teaching your children at a level they can understand, that God loves them, He created them, and He wants to have a relationship with them. To do this, we are providing a fun and purposeful learning environment that includes age appropriate lessons which are hands-on and fun. Kids spend the first 10-15 minutes in the worship service with their parents and walk to Faith Formation classes together following a short children's message in the main sanctuary.
Children Pre-K through 2nd grade must be picked up by parents in their classrooms following worship. A directory of classrooms by age can be found at the stairwell in the lobby. All of our Faith Formation teachers undergo a CORI background check with the State of Massachusetts.
Each year for a week during the summer, First UMC of Westborough joins with Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, and the Congregational Church of Westborough to conduct a fantastic Vacation Bible School.
Each year has a different theme, but is always packed full of fun craft activities, games, music and fellowship with others. Open to all children from ages 3 through Grade 6 with additional Counselor in Training and volunteer opportunities for older kids. Typically a half-day (morning) event held during the middle of July, dates and registration information can be found outside the office of our Christian Education Director during the late spring/early summer.
Such a great opportunity for kids to explore and grow in their faith with other Christian children in our community!
